Small Improvements

In my decluttering journey so far, I’ve tried to create some new habits. Making the bed. Keeping my bathroom counter clean. Concentrating on just one habit at a time before adding another has been helpful.

With the pandemic and then the power outages, things have been more stressful, so some of my habits have backslid. It’s okay though.

This weekend was yard cleanup time, so I was pretty busy and tired and neglected my usual habits.

So two days of shoes and clothes and socks ended up on the chair and the floor. It will only take 30 seconds to clean up, not a big deal.

But what I realized is that I used to have this kind of mess and worse in my bedroom all. the. time. Dirty clothes would just stay in piles until they got washed.

Sometimes it is easier to notice improvements in comparison to the way things used to be. This weekend reminded me how far I’ve come!
