We’re at Mach 1

When we first decided that we were on a 5-year plan to scale back and move out of the country, we considered keeping the house and renting it out for income. But after reviewing the pros and cons of our particular situation, we decided to sell the house. That has been the plan for several years now.

So Big News! We’ve got a realtor and after going over a plan with him, we decided to put the house on the market very soon. The realtor decided to stage our house with our own belongings – but stripped down. Way, way, down.

We will be downsizing into another place before the big move to Portugal. And things are moving crazy fast now – I’m calling it Mach 1.

A lot of our furniture, decorative and household items, books, and CDs have gone to thrift. The pile of journals I wrote about in Remembering and Forgetting seems so minor in comparison.

Take a look at these – all separate loads out of our house:

And these!

The house is feeling really good. We are ready for the downsizing and it is incredibly exciting!

Great job on such drastic downsizing! And thank heavens I was not your neighbor or I would have been picking thru every. HA

Oh, we live in that kind of neighborhood! There were several items we put on the curb for neighbors.
But did you know that nobody wants an ironing board anymore? We used ours for sewing. So I’m thinking of posting on a quilting site.
